Miguel Gori is an experienced art director, creative director, and photographer with a refined eye for detail, style, and aesthetics. One of the defining moments in his career came when he was invited to become Art Director of Dutch Vogue, where, over the course of six years, he shaped and nurtured the brand and magazine in the Netherlands.
After his tenure at Vogue, Miguel returned to his first passion: photography. Drawing on his extensive background in art and fashion, his work now explores the power of intimate portraiture, the expression of street fashion, and the serenity of nature.
His story begins between the Netherlands and Italy, the two countries where he grew up. He studied at an art school in Italy before continuing his education at Art Academy Sint Joost in Breda, specializing in Communication Arts. Following his studies, he returned to Milan (IT) to work in the studio of the legendary designer Ettore Sottsass, later becoming the art director for international brands such as Esprit and Mexx. During this period, he also began working independently as a photographer in the fields of fashion and advertising.
Miguel’s career took another significant turn when he co-founded Solar Initiative, an international multimedia agency dedicated to art direction, graphic design, and photography. Working across commercial projects and artistic endeavors, Solar Initiative earned recognition for its innovative cross-media approach, receiving prestigious awards including multiple Red Dot Awards, the European Design Award, and several Mercurs Awards.
Today, Miguel continues to merge his deep experience in art direction with his passion for photography, creating work that balances elegance, authenticity, and storytelling.
